From his debuts in 1989, Yann Barberot became one of the best riders in West of France, with more than 400 successes to his name. Among his greatest wins was the Group 2 Prix d’Harcourt at Longchamp in 2007 with Boris de Deauville, in the prestigious colours of M. Bryant and in the care of Deauville-based Stéphane Wattel.
At the top of his game, he was stopped just a few months later by a devastating heart attack at the races, forcing him to retire from riding and to send a year of rehabilitation.

AMONG THE BEST OF THE YOUNG GENERATION OF FRENCH TRAINERS
Yann Barberot registered in 2008 his first victory as a trainer with his first runner, Sirham, who was bought in a claimer. The same year, he took over as the head of an important stable based in Deauville from Yves Lalleman, who had earned the supreme title of Cravache d’Or on 8 occasions. Yann Barberot kept all his promises quickly collecting numerous successes, including the Group 3 Prix du Bois and Group 2 Prix Robert Papin in 2011 with Family One.
Now among the best trainers based in Deauville, Yann Barberot won his first Group 1 race in 2018 with Waikika, a splendid winner of the G1 Prix Vittorio di Capua at Milan. Regularly in the top 15 of the best French trainers by earnings since 2017, he is one of the best trainers of the young French crop.

In 2019, Yann Barberot settled in his new stables at the Deauville training center with a strong team built over the years.
Ecurie Yann Barberot is established in Deauville, in the worldwide known seaside resort, at the heart of the Normandy region and at only 2 hours from Paris.
The stable is located at the center of the internationally-known Deauville-La Touques racecourse.
The racecourse offers not only the strongest racing programme in France, but helds also one of the best racing meeting in the world in August.
Granted with high-quality infrastructures and various tracks to train all seasons, Deauville-La Touques training center is located only a few miles from the sea, highly conducive for both the mind and body of horses.
Newly restored and optimized for horses and humans, the new Yann Barberot’s stable has the capacity to welcome 60 horses. It has two barns, a covered walker and offers a potential of expansions for the next few months.
